silent mode!!! (help)

is there any other way to put the galaxy s (running froyo) in silent mode
so its not on vibo or ringer???

the only way i found is.... dropdown menu/melodie then go apps/settings/sound and put the ringer and notification sounds on all the way to the left

when i have done that =the phone is silent and only lights up when getting a call or text (like i want sometimes)

but is there any other way that is more user friendly and easyer??

this option is a real nightmare sometimes when i quickly need to switch, a few moths back when i was running eclair,the option silent mode was availible by volume keys pushing al the way down(on the side)
 

not working for me,
its just going into vibo (if i set the sound lvls to zero and switch back to melodie it works)
not realy silent mode if you ask me

yeah i have that but whem my phone is on melodie and put it in silent mode it just goes to vibo

THATS just the issue whahahahha

i want it to be on vibo by default and on selected times i want is completly silent

its just such a hassle to switch al the time whahaha

for exsample:
phone is on vibo and i want it to be silent,first i drop down to put it on melody (otherwise the volume uption in settings/sounds isnt highlighted)

then i go to app/settings/sounds/volume

and have to putt melodie and notifications all the way to the left (swypingbar thingy)
only then the phone is completely qieut

and when i want to get back to vibo i have to do all steps in reverted steps or else my vibo is silent aswell(because notifications and melody is set to zero)

now i have a shortcut on homescreen to sounds but i think that isnt the way to go
