1. configure ur gmail account
2. go to contacts menu -> import/export -> export to sd card (saves on external card)
3. delete all your contacts
4. now you will need internet connectivity
5. go to contacts menu -> import/export -> import from sd card -> select that backup file -> save contacts to google
6. you are done here
7. contacts will stay in 2 way sync ie: changes made on phone or gmail will be shown in both places
8. this way you don't ever need 2 take backup of your contacts
9. in case u accidently delete contacts on phone, it will also be deleted from gmail contacts, ur contact details is lost. in this case there is option in gmail contacts -> more actions -> restore
** whn u have 2 add contact or calender entry to ur phone, make sure tht its entered into gmail acc
( on top it will show ur gmail acc, if u r entering it into gmail acc)
( while entering event in calender, under calender tag select ur gmail acc )
even if u dont have connectivity 2 net all details will be shown in ur phone, and when u get connected it will flash into ur gmail acc also )
each and every minute details such as pics, anniversary, B'days, notes, everything will be synchronized, also dates ( b'days & anniversary ) will flash in ur google calender.
