Hey, got a Galaxy s 4G the other day, I've always been a fan of samsung flip phones for their durability and one really nice feature that they all seemed to include, which is the ability to assign a contact a number, and enter that number and push # and have it ready to dial. For example, if Joe was the 46th entry I'd added to the sim card, I could push 46, then # and it would bring up his number. Its good for those people you call a lot, and it gets into the triple digits, unlike the 9 speed dial slots that are available.

My question is, how do I go about adding a contact to the sim card, so that I can use this feature? Thanks

When I do that it says no contacts, so I tried to search a contact and it doesn't do anything. When I select the contact it won't let me bring up the menu.any suggestions?

Hmmm
You want to add it to the sim card, where is it now.
That is to say where are you exporting it from?

How did they get there in the first place?
When you press Contacts->menu->import/export
You should see this

Question about adding contacts to sim card

As I said choose export to sim.
If you are getting a no contacts message then, and this may be a shot in the dark, look at your contacts list, is there a green and yellow icon next to them?
If so they are already on your sim card and not on the phone.

The only contacts I have that have the sim card icon next to them are the check balance and check minutes, and those come up when I press 1# and 2#, respectively. That screen shot is what comes up when I choose menu and export to sim, but then it says no contacts. I can't figure out what I have to do to add the contact, though.

Figured it out. Had to import the contacts to the SD card, then import to the sim card. Thanks for the help though.

You have to export to sd card first, then back to phone again, then to sim card.
