Hi,

i understand we can update our firmware to the latest version 2.2

Any nice guys out there care to show me how can i do the update?

Appreciate if you can show me the steps hofefully with screenshot as well as i'm quite an idiot Big Grin

same problem here with my galaxy s/ galaxy i9000. when i tried to update it with kies, it says that it is not supported by this application. my current version is 2.1... pls help

Use the following changes in the registrationsdatabase:

"DEVCONINFO"=" MN(GT-I9000);VER(I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3);HIDVER(I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3);PRD(GT-I9000HKDXEE);SN();IMEI(###############);PN( );CON(AT,MTP,MTP);LOCK(FALSE)#OK#OK"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\]
"LocalVer"="1.5.3.10103.100"

Use the Kies version that ends on ...93_82

Uninstall your Kies and delete the Kies folder in the "Samsung" library in "programs" do not delete the folder with the USB drivers
Install Kies in the old version, open Kies and do not update it when it tells about a new version. Just say no. Plug in the phone and wait until Kies finds it(otherwise you will not be able to find the value in "DeviceDB"). Open Regedit and change the values(use Copy-Paste) exit regedit and now try to update the phone in Kies, should work nicely.

Enjoy 2.2.

Or wait until you get notice thru Kies that there is a download ready. It's being rolled out by region it seems.

There are a couple of threads devoted to speculating when Froyo will be released places outside the EU. I think it's more like it will be here when it gets here:(

The only thing I really want is flash. Skyfire isn't working for me and kies so there are some content (myyogaonline) I can't use.

It is not to complicated, will try to see if i can make a new guide with some pictures to guide you.
Regarding the update, in Denmark most of the phonecompanies retracted the update. Works for all the phonecompanies now.

Remember to install KIES in the old version the one that ends with 93.82 otherwise you cannot make this work. When you have installed the program connect your phone to KIES and DO NOT UPDATE Kies, say no to updating. When the phone are connected it will generate the values on the picture(DeviceDB) if you do not do this the values will not be in the database.
Remember NOT to close KIES and have a fully charged phone.

finally plugged in my phone to kies , said an update was available , i go to update then it says this device model cannot be updated
