Hey, guys. I have allways been using WiFi so far on my SGS and today i tried using a 3G when i was out and there was no WiFi signal to connect to,and when I tried connecting to the web it said "No network connection. Cannnot connect to Internet. Please check your connection settings and try again.". So i figured that i probably should turn of my WiFi and so I did. And still no luck... Can you please tell me how to turn on the 3G. ;]

When the wifi is off if there in an internet connection you should see 2 arrows (1 up & 1 down) next to the signal strenth. When data id being sent or received these arrows will turn red/green.

If there is a '3G' or 'H' on the signal strength bars, then you are connected to 3G network. If its a 'G' then your only connected to 2G.

If arrows arent present, there is no internet connection.

You can turn the 2G/3G on/off in Settings>Wireless and Network >Mobile networks>Network mode

If the phone cant connect, you may need to enter the internet settings onto the phone: Settings>Wireless and Network >Mobile networks>Access Point Names
You should be able to get these from your mobile networks website. Also make sure they have enabled web access on your price plan.

Sadly there are no arrows and when i go to Settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks->Access Point Names nothing shows up yet i do have functions as "New APN" and "Reset to default". The weird thing is that I just tried the same SIM card on my sony ericsson and i had internet connection... Any other ideas? Crying

By the way, on the Network mode its set to "GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)"

If there is nothing in the APN's page it sounds as though your phone does not have the internet settings.

You click on 'New APN' to create an internet profile, but you will need to get the settings info from your Network Provider, in most cases you can get it through their website rather than having to ring them

Call your Carrier ask them for APN settings and add them there by clicking Add new APN.

Peace.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.
