My IT dept provided me the following info for configuring a blackberry to connect to our corporate wifi. I, however, have an Samsung Captivate and and I’m trying to figure out how to ‘convert’ these configs to the options/fields provided in the Android Wifi setup.

On the BB you do the following ...
1.  Goto the “Set Up Wi-Fi Network” option and select “Other ways to connect”, “Click Manually Connect to Network”
2.  Use the following details:
--SSID: MEGACORP
--Security Type: WPA/WPA2 Enterprise
--Enterprise Sub-Type: PEAP
--Username: megacorp\<domain user name>
--Password: <domain password>
--CA certificate: <None selected>
--Inner link security: AUTO
--Token <None selected>
--Server subject:
--Server SAN:
--Disable Server Certificate Validation: check
--Band type: 802.11b/g/n
--SSID broadcasted: check
--Automatically obtain IP address and DNS: check
--Allow inter-access point handover: check

Anybody have any ideas how to make this work on my Galaxy?

Try this

setttings > Wireless and network > Mobile network settings > Access Point Names

Press the menu button and select New APN. You will be able to enter all the data there.

Try the search or check the how to thread before asking a question.

I realize where in the menu to look for the settings "Wireless and network" -> "Wi-Fi settings" -> "Add Wi-Fi network", but I can not figure out how to map the settings to what is available on my Galaxy. I've tried putting the values in as best as I can, but to no avail.

I tried the following:
Network SSID: MEGACORP
Security: 802.1x EAP
EAP method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: None
CA Certificate: Unspecified
User Certificate: Unspecified
Identity: megacorp\<domain user name>
Anonymous Identity: <blank>
Password: <my password>

Now what happens at this point?

The list of networks visible includes the MEGACORP SSID twice. Once for the one I created, and once for what the phone can actually see which is MEGACORP (but with WEP security). For the WEP security one, it shows it as in range, but for the one I created, it shows it as  "Not in range".

Have you checked with IT to see if they will allow android devices on corporate network? I know I cannot put my device on my megacorp network unless I want to subject it to more restrictions that you can shake a stick at. Blackberry has very different security (aka strong)-unlike Android. If you are allowed to put your device on the network, your corporate help desk should be able to help you.

Hi,
Can someone of you please confirm whether Galaxy S (with a recent FW build) supports EAP-SIM and/or EAP-AKA methods of 802.1x-EAP/WPA-Enterprise ?

Thank you so much.
