Hello all,
I was wondering if it is possible to turn swype tips off? I've been using swype since the beginning of having my phone, but the tips(hints maybe in english version phones) start to annoy me. Whenever I type a word, and swype brings up the wrong word and I can select the correct one from a list, after I do so swype will ALWAYS start opening some pop up window telling me: Your word <insert word here> was hidding because of the word <other word>. You can delete your created word by blah blah blah. I don't want to get this message over and over and over again, and yet, it keeps popping up all the time. Anyone have any idea how to turn this off(or maybe that's just not possible?) I've tried going through the swype options but as far as I could see, I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance.

I actually have the exact same problem, was about to post a questions about it. I tried with the "Enable tip indicator" option checked and unchecked, but to no avail Crying

Just found this on the official Swype forum, so apparently, they know about it and are working on it:

Responses go back till end of october, yet still no fix. A simple button in the menu could fix it. Big fail. It's the biggest swype issue right now...

[big bump]

I see the Search function giving lots of 'hits'...

It says February 17, 2011 in that message.

It is now many moons later.

This eternally returning popup, suggesting incorrectly spelled words, drives me insane. The "S" is the best cellphone I've had so far (except for Swype/keyboard, apps updating themselves, and the battery life), but this is one thing I would like to smash my "S" for, if I could.

Can/must I update Swype? I am new here, so pardon my intrusion in this old thread.

No need to bump, just update to Android 2.3.3 through KIES and your Swype popup problems are history.
