How to recover deleted files on SGS ?

... i made some pictures and clips ... and stopid of me i deleted them by mistake... can i recover deleted files ?

It works ... now is recovering my files from SGS internal sdcard. Thanks

Sounds like you didn't mount your F: drive yet.

Eclair 2.1:
After connecting USB to computer, choose Mass Storage on the Android. It's still not done, you have to slide open the noticifaction area and press Turn on USB Storage, and then press okay again on the screen after that.

Froyo 2.2:
After connecting USB to computer, choose Mass Storage on the Android. In Froyo, a Green android picture will pop up, press the Turn On button.

Check if the F: drive is accessible, and with the files you recognise seeing on your android. If you don't recognise any files from your android, drive F: is probably not from your SGS.

Just try this: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download/portable (freeware PC software). Unzip files on your PC, run it. Have your SGS mounted on your PC in Mass Storage mode, and scan either internal or external SD with Deep Scan method. Files with green icon in front means it's recoverable.

hi men i have same problem and when i tried to scan my galaxy s  with recuva this tell me  THE DEVICE IS NOT READY . please help me ! thank you.

Eeeh, actually it was already step by step. But your setting is fixed to KIES when connecting the USB. To change it back to Mass Storage (or choose when connecting), go to Settings > Wireless and network > USB settings. there's Mass Storage, also depending on which version could have Choose on connection．

If Mass Storage is chosen, every time you connect your USB, the Green Android pops up, with the Mount button under it. Click that.
If Choose on connection is chosen, when connecting choose Mass Storage first, then after the Green Android, click the button under it.

My problem is, when I used recuva, I am unable to open any of the recovered image files, even thout thjey are shown as fully recoverable. The viewer says "invalid image". Other than that, everythng looks OK, the size, the file name, even the picture file header. Any suggestions? 

I have also tried other file restoring software but to no effect. Some software packages are actually unable to see the main partition of the internal SD card. They only see a small 2GB, or so, chunk, which I am guessing is the internal  "phone memory" ?
