My Samsung Galaxy S only rings for just under 5 seconds when somebody calls me, before diverting to answerphone.  That's rarely enough time for me to get the slippery bar of soap out of the pouch on the back of my belt, and always defeats me if I've left it on the opposite side of the room (despite balletic leaps over dog, furniture etc.)  I can't find the setting to make it ring for longer.  Is there one?

Didn't get past instruction One I'm afraid: 1. Dial *#61# and click Send.

It said "USSD Code Running" then cut to the home screen.  2nd and subsequent attempts it said "MMI code started" then cut to the home screen.

This may be set by your provider if that's how you get voice mail.  Now I don't have VM it rings until I answer or caller hangs up. Before it rang 4 times before flipping over.

Try the search or check the how to thread before asking a question.

Thanks.  Solved by deactivating the voicemail, couldn't find the information on how to do that on the Vodaphone site, but they replied to e-mail as follows:

"You can yourself reset voicemail on your phone.

The incoming calls will be diverted to Voicemail if your phone is switched off, engaged or outside of Vodafone network coverage. To de-activate standard Voicemail from your phone, please dial 1210 SEND.

You can re-activate the standard Voicemail service on your phone by dialling 1211 and SEND from your phone. "
