How do I choose or select where my downloads are saved . .   at the moment everything is going in to the internal sdcard . .    which leads me to another question - what is the difference between internal sd card storage and internal phone storage ( I have 1.75GB on that).   I don't seem to have any choice where downloads go . . . . .

All downloads automatically go to the internal SD card unless the application you are using has a setting for an external card. If it helps think of your phone as having a partitioned hard drive. One part is for operating system, other programs, and essential parts of the other programs (Internal phone storage). The other is for data mostly (Internal SD card). The external SD card is like a portable backup hard drive.

Tap on "Internet">Menu>More>Settings>Default storage: "Memory card" ticked.

I think I am getting the hang of all this - but slowly . .   so let me get this right - ALL aps via Market - unless there is an option offered to me before download - will go to the internal memory. Right?  I have no other options. However, when I set the default for Internet downloads on the settings provided, these will go to the external sd?  OK.   Next problem, I have just installed Firefox version 4 for mobile (my preferred browser) and I cannot find thisoption (download to where ??)  which IS an option on the built in browser ! ?  Why is life so complicated . . .

Any ideas . .

As I see:
1. the downloaded apps. from Market are saved in /data/app/.
2. the downloaded things from Net are saved in /mnt/sdcard/download/.
The life seems to be complicated, but not it is.
(This is only my opinion).
