Hi,

I just got a Samsung Vibrant and I'm having trouble selecting an mp3 as a default tone for the calendar reminder. Here is what I've been doing step by step:

calendar - create - then I set up all the details (location, etc) and click on "Alarm" to set the Alarm and then "Alarm Tone" to try to select the mp3 but I can only select from a a pre-selected list. I have 2 questions:

- Can I select an mp3 as my alarm tone?
- Can I set an mp3 as a DEFAULT alarm tone so that I don't have to do the same thing for ALL my calendar events? (I have A LOT of them)

cheers

Rafa

There's an app that lets you use mp3 songs as a ringtone, I think it's called ringdroid. Try checking  it out.

Once you've set a tone for alarm events, that will be the same alarm for all events. It's a one-time thing, until you change it again.

I've tried the app and it lets you do what you are sayig when it comes to ringtones, alarms and notifications...but not calendar alarm tones.

This sounds like a simple enought thing to do. It cannot be that this is not possible.

Basicly I'd like to be able to do this: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/productivity/calendar-event-reminder_mbwq.html

I think this is simple enough to be in the standard calendar, but now that I see there is someone selling this app I'm thinking what I want is not a native function.

Rawfa:

Maybe your situation is resolved, but I found Calendar Event Reminder on the market.  It does everything I needed that the native calendar did not do.  You are able to use your own mp3 files if you want.  He gives a hint on his website on how to set that up:  http://blog.invalidobject.com/android-app-calendar-event-reminder.  Hope this helps you out if you are still looking.

The native calendar app is really weak.
