Hi, i want to ask you guys about some advice. I've been using Yahoo Mail for about 8 years now and it's kinda hard to switch to GMAIL.
I also want to receive mails on my SGS, but i don't manage to create an Yahoo account. A smart thing about GMAIL is the option to import email from Yahoo and then access it via SGS, but unfortunately it's not in real time. Also if i want to have real time Ymail notification i have to pay 19$/year, then i'll receive POP settings and mail forwarding.
So any suggestions on what should I do ?...Pay 19 bucks or is there another way ?

thanks

I've VERY happily used ProfiMail (which I was using before on my Nokia) to read Hotmail and Yahoo mail. With STANDARD Yahoo accounts...

ProfiMail is a COMMERCIAL application. But it's VERY GOOD.

You can find it on the market (it's a demo version) or on their site : http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=profimail

It's NOT cheap. But it's, as far as I'm concerned, the best mail client out there.

I use it to connect to my corporate e-mail with IMAP4/SSL and Push E-mail (IMAP-Idle). It also talks very well to the google mail / google apps accounts. It's just miles ahead of the default e-mail application or K9 mail which slows my Galaxy to a craul...

Gilles.

Yahoo has a mail client as well. It also has push. Give it a try.

I know what you mean. I had a geocities account that turned into a yahoo account in the 90s (or ages ago anyway) I installed then uninstalled the yahoo email app as it seemed to make my system unstable. Then i was using Samsung push email app but it's stopped working - seems their server is down.

Really? I didn't notice. But I have installed yahoo's mail client and run it and other than being a little slow, it worked. Ultimately, I uninstalled it because it didn't have an option for manual sync like the gmail app.

Again, just try it out. You can always uninstall anyway.

Ah so you already have it installed but you just can't update it? Is your current version not working well for you?

The update worked for me but my device started freezing. When I uninstalled, freezing problem went away.

if/when you get Froyo update, the social hub handles yahoo mail quite well.

+1 for Social Hub. It didn't really work until I updated to Froyo but now I have everything in one place, yahoo, gmail and real mail. Actually a nice app.

sorry for repeating my question :
on this thread as well, but i am kinda desperate :-(

how on earth can i use social hub to manage my yahoo account?
when i enter the social hub application, all i can do is read my sms messages and my facebook inbox or compose (see pic)
i was expecting the hard button on the left to pop-up a menu or smth, but it does no such thing
can u plz explain to me?
thx
