Hi,

I've been using the Galaxy S for a month now, but I'm still unable to make up my mind whether to Root it.

So, with this Poll, I (others too) would like to find out your decision.

Have you rooted your i9000? and, why?

Thanks,
Best Screen Protector

I see no reason for me to root it. Samsung announced that they will upgrade to Android 2.2... and the phone is already fantastic as it is. What would rooting it bring to me that the phone doesn't already have?

My generic one has that feature. That's what I get from paying the phone full price. Happy

I'm waiting for 2.2, I already had it on my N1 and FroYo rocks.  Come on Samsung!  If it takes too long then I may root.

Upgrade my firmware and rooted today and its well worth it... the speed increase to the latest firmware is amazing and the rooting has opened up the ability to backup the phone (apps and data) to the SD card.

Well worth it.

Let's continue this thread. Happy

I choose not to root at moment, but just 2 weeks.

I choose not to since
1. it's so far so good, enough for me.
2. maybe wait for anroid 2.2.   dont know how Samsung annouce it and how to upgrad it officially.
3. maybe I am too old to do such thing. Happy

Stock for me.

Don't really see any reason to root. Phone's plenty quick, memory booster handles maintenance, mybackup handles backups, slideme/and app/androidgear and a half dozen online stores handle my paid app needs. So, I really don't see any point in rooting my phone.

And when 2.2 comes out, it'll just make things better. Can't complain.

Both widgets' name are there.

The first screen-shot is Fancy Widget, but it had been taken off the Market, recently, due to a complain by HTC as it is very similar to their Sense.
There's another similar widget as this in the Market now, you can search for WF and Clock Widget.

The other one is a paid version of Beautiful Widgets, which also includes those control button widgets.
