Hi All

I bought a carrier blocked galaxy s gt i9000(TMN). I recently simunlocked it at TMN. But now all their system apps are still on the phone making it very slow. How can i remove it without rooting my phone, or can it only be done by rooting my phone? If  root my phone remove the apps and then unroot my phone will the apps be gone? Will the gingerbread update solve my speed and lag problems? Ps does anyone have any idea how long the release of the gingerbread update will be on hold?
 HUH?

Thanx.

Do not root.
I'm not sure if you can do this on your country.
Not sure is legal or non-legal.
Bring to Samsung service center if you have on your country.
Ask them to use original firmware without any operator or app additional.
Most of firmware for Galaxy has been pre-set for customize operator with application inside.
But this can be set by using default galaxy s (like demo unit) without any operator or any extra apps.

Hi

I say DO IT!

I just rooted my phone for the exact same reason. All those preinstalled apps that i didn't want and couldn't get ridd of no matter what I did. And now, after trying some specific aplications for rooted phones, I was finally able to delete the unwanted ones. I could't be more pleased with this decision. And there is the added posibility to learn more advanced tehniques to improove your phone as you use it.

Good luck!

ROOT!!!! (but be careful ;-) :-) )

next, get "root explorer" from market.

open root explorer.

now follow the path
\system\app
in this directory, u'll find all the .apk and .odex files of preinstalled apps!!!!
now select the .apk and .odex files of apps which bother you, and move them to some directory on sd card (to hav back up) or just delete them.
to re-install deleted apps, move the .apk n .odex files back to \system\app

P.S. - u cant do any of these without root!!
