Hello Happy

By using the AllShare-app, and "Play file from server on another player via my phone".
Anyone know if this is possible:
I have an "old television" with no usb ports.  But, attached to the same televison i have a dvd-player with usb-port in front.
If i go buy myself a "bluetooth-usb-thingy" to put into this usb port, will it be possible for me to stream videos in windows mediaplayer to my dvd-player, so i can watch it on my telly?
If anyone knows i appreciate it Happy

I am trying to use Allshare for video as well, but just from the SGS to a blueray player.

I believe this is Samsung's DLNA service, if so, the components you use must support DLNA. THE SGS has it already. Your PC can get it via a software download/install. The DVD either had to have it when you bought it, or gotten it via a firmware update.

The PC, DVD player and SGS need to be on the same network (ip's on same subnet).

Be sure the server files you want to share are set to share or they won't be visible to the playing device.

Aha, well then im not so sure...I got a small Phillips DVD HOME THEATRE SYSTEM HTS3154.
Bought 3-4 years ago.  Googled it, and found this
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hts3154_12/hts3154_12_pss_aen.pdf   cant see anything about dlna im afraid, so it doesnt look that good. If i ( hopefully) not have missed anything. You are sure its not enough to buy a bluetooth-device that supports dlna, and then plug that device into the usb-port, if thats even possible...that if works like a converter or something?

I am trying to figure this out by experiment, like you, so I can't answer that. From what I can tell, it looks like Bluetooth is  a wireless technology and that the "server/player" sharing software needs to run on the device. A Bluetooth dongle is normally intended as a means to connect to a device with bluetooth software, but that does not have the hardware receiver built in. So the hardware is just a gateway for the device's bluetooth software to use to get data in and out of it.

I would guess that for your DVD player to recognize bluetooth, it would have to have some bluetooth drivers loaded on it.

this is allshare on galaxy a

2nd movie, he is saying that the TV and mobile has to be the same network.
so which means, TV or DVD player has be working with internet.
1~1:10sec

so get your own wifi at home and TV. I have tried with PC. it is working well

Hello again Happy
At the moment i am having an old, 5-6 years approx, Thomson tv, old style. No wifi here.
I also have an old Phillips dvd-player, but with no wifi also here.
What i think is the closest ( and cheapest) solution for me, if i wanna try this out, is to buy a blueray-player (?) since, as i take it, they all have DLNA integrated ?

hi..

I am not sure what is DLNA integrated.

however, you need to get smart TV and dvd player.

5-6 years old model would not have this funtion.

all share is attractive. but need to buy brand new TV.

maybe you buy wifi Dvix box(player)->it is about 200usd in korea. so you might find them on ebay.

then you can connect to divx box to play things on TV by your mobile.

do you know what is the most cool things on all share?

if you buy samsung camcoder(I can't remember the exact model), you can uproad movies on internet broadcast TV while you are recodng. so it is like live TV.

I think that a blueray player, if it has, as i suspect, dlna integrated, it will solve my problem.
Live tv sounds fun ;-)

I found using a PS3 for media streaming to HDTV works best for me, although you can stream movies/photos/music from the galaxy S it doesn't support 3GP, so native videos shot on the Galaxy S wont work without first being transcoded................TVersity does a good job of this.
