speaker volume issue

Well, compared to other current generation smartphones, the speaker volume on the Galaxy S is notoriously low.

Besides, processing power does't really have anything to do with the volume output. That's more of a hardware issue, meaning that bigger speakers equals louder volumes. Considering how thin the phone is (though not as thin as the iPhone 4 or the Galaxy S II), I don't suppose they could fit a big enough speaker into it.

If you've got the cash, I suggest you buy a pair of external speakers, ones that can plug in to the 3.5mm port. Or you could just use the supplied headphones. They're nowhere near hi-fi, but they're pretty good for a "come-with" pair.

Well, that's true, but I suppose that the external speaker solution works if you're planning to use it as a music player.

In my case, since the loudspeaker was so weak (oxymoron? LOL), I just set it to vibrate whenever I'm in a noisy environment.
