Social Hub app the Samsung apps icon

I have the same problem.  Originally I sucessfully installed and had Social Hub for Push email working with my work MS Exchange account, and my home Bell Canada Sympatico account.  I also had gmail account added, but it never worked for me.  I also had the IM part installed.  Trying to get gmail working, I decided to delete the accounts and start over.  Once I did that, I could not add accounts.  When trying to set up email (touch Samsung Email icon -> Next), I got the "Get email from" with "In progress...." message.  That would eventually time out with message "Your action took too long to complete and timed out.  Please try again."  Same thing with the Samsung IM icon trying to Add Account.

I have installed the Samsung App Social Hub Push Email and IM several times.  Of course, that doesn't help.  I tried rebooting the device, then installing, then adding accounts.  Nothing works.

Edit 12Oct10:  I got it to work.  I uninstalled all my apps.  Then I removed the accounts.  I think removing the accounts is what did it.  I removed the accounts by touching Contacts -> Menu -> More -> Accounts -> touch account -> Remove Account.

I then did a Factory data reset.  Settings -> Privacy -> Factory data reset.

After phone rebooted, I went to Applications -> Samsung Email.  It then behaved as new, asking me to accept the agreements.  All my email accounts were there listed with "invitations".  I accepted the invitations - the invitations had remembered my email settings.  It knew my work MS Exchange server settings and it knew my account.  All I had to do was enter my password, and I was good to go.

I was going to boot into recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset, but had the problem corrected without trying that.  If I had done that, I do not think the email account "invitations" would have been preserved.

I wanted a clean SGS so I can install OCLF.2.1.2.apk, then complete setting up the phone including email and installing Apps.

Before I upgrade to Froyo 2.2, I will do a recovery mode wipe data/factory reset.  I want a clean SGS when I go to Froyo 2.2.
