Since Samsung decided not to publish ICS 4.0 for Galaxy I was really sad, but it is still possible to upgrade it to ICS and its full capable to support ICS

I am now in dilemma if I should leave it 2.3.3 or upgrade to ICS which looks great and I saw that it works fins, but I feel unsecure because its unofficial... So what do you think. Should I leave it 2.3.3 or Upgrade to ICS 4.0 ??

If so, Im planning on this one :

Also can somebody write me down advantages and disadvantages about upgrading to ICS ..... Tnx

I think is better wait the final version of 4.0, there are only RCs till now, maybe you can try 2.3.6 leaked JVU, is very fast and have certains features of ICS (face recognicion etc).

I've been following the progress of Onecosmic's ICS port here:

 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223

Tried a few versions and it's coming on great,  but still varying experiences, some a people install with almost no issues,  others not so lucky.
The latest version particularly seems to have some stability issues with kernel.  But I recommend following this and trying once they sorted out more of the issues, especially if you're not that experienced with rom flashing

That's anyone's guess,  they release new versions pretty regular though,  and bare in mind these devs are doing this in their own time.

And if I've learned one thing following the thread is NEVER post asking for an eta, they won't give you a positive (or even a polite)  response.

:(dear friends, i too use a Samsung Galaxy S. I was eagerly waiting for the ICS to update, but i couldn't.
Recently i read some reviews and also referred a very disappointing news officially released by samsung. Samsung says that no Galaxy S devices can be updated, The S models have some limited processor and memory capacities and will not support the latest ICS update.
how embarrassing is it.

THis is a lie from samsung nexus s have the same specs and will have ICS, the problem is touchwiz, is not posible tw and ICS, but sammy could release a ICS lite without full tw.
The last desicion is not taken other roumous say sammy is triyng put a ICS lite in secret.
And ICS mods run perfect in our SGS.

Galaxy S and Nexus S have the same specs and can run ICS perfect, the problem is touchwiz.
