Download the "Kernel_JPJV6.exe" from hier and run it. You'll get a tar file.
1.Flash the attached "zImage-root.tar" file as PDA with no pit and no re-partition using Odin.
2.After Odin says "pass", your phone will reboot.
3.Unplug the cable from Pc.
4.Turn off your phone and wait 1 min.
5.Go to download mode via 3 button combo.
6.Put the extracted original Kernel tar file as PDA only, no pit and no re-partition, plug the cable to the PC again and flash this kernel.
7.After Odin says "pass", your phone will reboot.
8.Unplug the cable from PC.
You are done.

Yes, you should turn off your phone first, then go to download mode using the 3 button combo.

I think you may have more luck using all 3 files and flash with Odin. Also try using odin v3 as in some case odin v7 sometimes give issues.

Here is a link to the files for the 2.3.3 download.
http://hotfile.com/dl/119726483/869a7e2/I9000JPJV6_OJPJV6_JXJV6.rar.html

Also another good website to get Firmware from is:
http://www.samfirmware.com ------> look in the tool box under Android then i9000 then scroll to the bottom near "Arabic Samsung I9000 Firmwares." Also they have put a guide on how to flash on the site.

Does any know if Dark Core Kernel works on the JXJVP 2.3.3 ?

Thanks,

Maytham

I need some help plz..... I used your method and successfully rooted my friend's JPJV6 without any issues, I myself was using Darky's Rom 10.2...now today I reflashed my fone with stock JPJV6 from samfirmware.com and now when I try to root using your method, nothing happens  Crying
I have done the whole process twice now, put my fone in download mode and flash wih zImage-root.tar,odin says successful, fone reboots and shows an ugly red fish (blowfish?) and then goes into a bootloop ( Galaxy S boot screen ---> Red Fish screen ---> Reboot)
Put my fone in download mode again and flash with Kernel_JPJV6.tar, odin says successful, fone reboots....and yet I still dont get superuser access Crying plz help me, I need to get Titanium backup running to restore my apps, TB keeps saying I don't have root previlages and the superuser Icon also does not show up in app drawer..... I can't figure out why it won't work as I myself hav had success with this method previously....help plzzz Crying

Download the SpeedMod kernel, and flash it as PDA using Odin. NO pit and NO repartition.
Reboot.
After reboot go to recovery mode and in the "Speedmod Advanced Menu" choose "ROOT/Install Superuser". Hier can you enable the lagfix, too:
Choose "convert filesystem to EXT4"
AND
"convert SYSTEM Filesystem", then opt EXT4,too.

You only need to flash aSemaphore/SpeedMod kernel to be rooted.
