Whenever I make or receive a call the "in-call" volume is at about 50%. Is there anything I can do to permanently set it to the maximum volume?

Usually you just set it once via the volume keys on the side while you're on a call. Other than that, I don't know how else you could do it since there's no menu setting for it. There is one to adjust the ringer volume as well as some other stuff but not for voice volume in the earpiece.

That's right, set it via the side button, but that has to be done each and every call, it won't stay at 100% and there is no menu to adjust.

Maybe you can try searching android market for an app that lets you set volume?

Hi:

The suggestions made so far should work but if you were to try an 'App' to deal with you volume issue I would recommend

Quick Settings by Sergej Shafarenka.  You can find this app through Android Market and it is free (the version I personally use).  I have this app on my Home Page as it is so versatile that i use it for most of my settings.

Good luck.

Copied from another thread:
When using the headset the volume of your calls is controlled by Settings/Sound/Volume/Media.

This needs to be set before you start the call. You cannot change it once the call is in progress.  Crying

The 'In'call volume' accessed by the rocking swich on the left of the phone will attenuate the volume but will only allow you to send and receive audio to the maximum set on the 'Media' volume.

This is not an ideal solution because:
If you are listening to music on the music player set to for example 10 [the maximum is 15 Eyes Rolling] and you recive a call the volume of the call will be at 10 and you cannot change it. Shocked

My guess is that the Samsung guy who designed the dialer app was in a different room from the guy who designed the Settings/Sound/Volume dialog. and they were not on speaking terms...

The best solution would be for the dialer to use 'Media' volume instead of the useless 'In call volume'.

If I worked in the Samsung office I could go down the hall and tell the guy but instead here we are typing sentences on some obscure forum that i doubt the Samsung guys even read.

So good luck and if you find a better solution share it please.
