Right, I can't find it myself. On samsung's keyboard, nothing happens when you long press 123, on swype it brings you to an options table of contents but no arrows.

Ok, I've tried the swipe from S to sym and that doesn't do anything. And when I long hold the 123abc key, it doesn't take me to a screen with an arrow key, help!  Happy

well i cant. On the standard samsung keypad, not swype, holding down the 123 key for however long does nothing whatsoever.

Samung Galaxy S Plus GT-i9001
Firmware 2.3.3
Baseband I9001XXKG3

I can only pressume those seeing the additional keypad have a different version of firmware installed. I'd appreciate it if others could point that out, it would be nice to get to the bottom of the problem. Not being able to backspace without deleting is extremely frustrating!

If you touch within your text window to the right of what you've written, you will get a tag at the end of your text that you can pull anywhere you want.  Touching in the (still) empty space is a lot easier than trying to pinpoint between two specific letters/characters. (Especially with big fingers and a little screen).
Note: this works on a Galaxy W, should be the same on a Galaxy S I guess.  Same OS.
