Hi everyone,

I've been using my samsung galaxy s for almost 2 weeks now. I am still observing my battery life. We all know how important battery is to the features that we are using. Right? I just want you people to post your heaviest use of the phone with one full charge. This way we will know how our battery is performing and if there is something wrong. AND we will also know what we can do with one full charge.  Sticking out tongue If you didn't drain it all then you can just place the remaining percentage of the battery! Hope you post yours!

I am gonna start it with mine.

4 hours of video playing
50+ text messages
2hour of music playback
1hour of 3g browsing

After all of this, I'm left with around 30%. Hope to post more accurate measures.
I'm still observing my battery life. Have fun! hope this works!  Big Smile

Not bad. A good info to ask, if you had wifi or any other battery draining app activated during any of these events? It's good to know because they will also play a part in getting the most out ygour battery.

I’m also disappointed with my battery.
From I brought, I’m 11 days usage until today.
I’m doesn’t have any voice data, only unlimited data plan.
I’m considering moderate user.

I use to:
1. Started in morning when my phone fully charged after I woke up. (Phone switched off while charging).
2. Listening radio on the way to work and daily briefing news, quotes and weather.
3. Use goggle map/latitude a lot (GPS+WiFi), in order more accurate must turn WiFi network it said, but I’m using 3G network to connect data not WiFi. Anyway I’m also disappointed with GPS. It takes so long to locate my position. I don’t know why. It seems my Sony Ericsson c905 & Yari U100 more fast and accurate then my Galaxy S.
4. GTalk is running in back ground for messaging almost every 5 minutes I do message.
5. Checking email and browsing internet by using both internet browser & Opera I’m always use it.
6. I always frequent use original task manager to kill application on RAM manager by using Level 2 > Clear Memory.
7. Play games Unblock Me if I’m free.
8. Searching apps in android market.

Over all it seems about 15 hours already 10% of battery left.
From 6:45am to 10:15pm.

My Samsung Galaxy S always feels warm, although there’s no application running while idle on task manager.
When I run other task manager such Advanced task manager I can see a lot has been running on boot and services. Well I’m not killing it. I want to see how bad and good by default performance.

I’m intend to use Fring to video call to my wife or other friends.
But since ‘they’ (including my wife) still not using smartphone yet.
So no body to call. I tested and it seems Fring take a lot of battery and drain battery so fast.

Until now I wondering any phone can use power charger without battery inserted or battery hot swap like those SD card :p

But impossible right, because now SD card it self no longer hot swap.

What I know while charging battery and using your phone, performance’s battery will drop significant. You must switch off your phone while charging.

I envy your battery! If I let the 3g loose, my battery drains out really fast. I remember reading naruto manga in my galaxy and after I finish reading the manga my battery already went down by 10%. (from 100% to 90%) Can anyone say if my battery is broken or something? I would really like to know. I'm bothered by this. I bought the phone for unlimited activities but I'm limited by the battery. Help!

HI,
I have had my Galaxy now for a month and i absolutely LOVE IT...however, just this week, i have noticed that the battery is fully charged in the morning and by mid morning it is completly dead.  The only thing i can see is that when i go into the "battery usage" it is saying that the Social Hub is eating most of my battery power.....I have tried to figure out how to disable or stop this from happening, but can't seem to.  I go into running applications, and it is not running...and i check task manager and it says no apps running, so i am not sure where else to look to try and disable....if anyone has any suggestions, i would love to hear them!  It is probalby something simple i am over looking!  this has only started happening this week and it is the second day it happenend (not in a row though).
Thanks for any suggestions!! Happy
 Angel

Hi Zigette, welcome to the forum. Have you changed any email settings lately so you get email more frequently? Also any texting will come through the social hub if you have it set up.

For more tips on using your SGS check this post.

It has been a month since I got my galaxy s and my battery can somehow get me through the day. That is with my 3g OFF. If I turn on my 3g on it takes only about 4-5hours while browsing. Most of the time I'm just watching movies from my galaxy with no wifi and no 3g. ( We gotta take advantage of having the best display in a phone  Big Grin) . So basically, Without 3g my battery is enough for the day. Btw, when 3g and wifi is off all synch is off too because it still drains more battery power if they are on. I'm still hoping to get an extra battery with a seperate charger.
