I bought one for my wife for mother's day.  It's still worth buying but if your not in a hurry  you may want to wait for the Galaxy S2.

Don't buy it.

It has a crystal clear and super vibrant SAMOLED screen, it's disgasting

It is so light it feels like your holding nothing, it's disgasting

It has a 1Ghz Processer and doesn't hitch when I play games for it's time, it's disgasting

It is the best community supported device, it's disgasting

I dropped a dumbell on it and the screen shattered, it's disgasting

You have any idea how many times this question has been asked, it's disgasting

Peace.

I agree wholeheartedly with IronSing. Galaxy disgusts the hell out of me too! haha

Seriously though, if you're new to Android, main thing to consider is it's multitasking, which means if you want the best performance, you have to monitor your running apps closely - don't have too many running at the same time.

Another thing is Kies, not sure if they've worked everything out already but the stock desktop client of Samsung has caused many a migraine for a lot of us. Search for Kies in the forums to get an idea.

What I really impressed about this phone is the sound quality. I never thought I will get this best clear sound in a phone before. Better than my iPod Classic 160gb. With the appropriate kernel and voodoo apps plus better earbuds than the stock, it will be a decent PMP. The battery is as expected from a phone though.
