I'm thinking about buying a Samsung i9000 galaxy s smart phone, but my friend tells me that Samsung touch screen phones tend to become insensitive to touch overtime, and that it doesn't support flash on its browsers. Is it true?

Is your friend an iPhone fanboy?

I had 3 Samsung touch-screen devices (look at my sig), the first one was 2 years old, using daily and it still flies.

Are you a samsung fanboy ?  Wink Wink. Seriously, you did not respond to any of the questions

I have not heard of anyone that have reported that the screen becomes "worn" and insensitive. If that happens (within a year or so, you should report that as a defect).
Flash works great, at least in my SGS browser!

I understood your question no problem, some people don't read it properly.
I have had the galaxy since the first day it when on sale at o2, I had already booked it the week before!
I've have no problems with the screen or any other problems for that matter, Love it....suppose you could say I'm a Samsung fanboy. Excellent phones pity the manuals are all pish no matter which model you buy.
I say give us a couple of pre production phones (due out in 2012/13) and the forum could write a better manual than who-ever is writing them.

Oh yes - give us phones before they are out so we can write technical manuals, or at least have some fun advising what to include Big Grin Have written tech manuals and procedures, I prefer the advising part.

As for the touch screen, I've had products for a year and the touch quality doesn't change. Flash support has more to do with the version of android than the device. Froyo is out for many regions and there's always the hacker route if you must have it.

I'm thinking about buying a Samsung i9000 galaxy s smart phone, but my friend tells me that Samsung touch screen phones tend to become insensitive to touch overtime, and that it doesn't support flash on its browsers. Is it true?

Just to let you know, the SGS's touchscreen is in my opinion the best screen I've ever touched.

The flash is also supported. I don't know about the 2.1 version, because I'm on 2.2, but in 2.2, it is. Remember that youtube is one of the most visited websites worldwide and it's pretty silly to think that such a wonderful device wouldn't support flash, don't you think?

My advice for you is to get that phone, if you like it and if you can buy it somewhere. I've spent a lot of time, phone calls, traveled a lot and had a lot of luck to get mine. Look at me now, I'm the happiest user on this forum! Wink Wink
