Hi
I have i9000 and i purchased it from toronto canada ,its a international version phone ,so now i am trying to use it in India on Vodafone network .Here in india its giving me network signal problem some time when i try to make a call it show’s data network not available. and also shows Emergency calls only but in some areas it works fine but its very rare ,i tried to used a new vodafone SIM but that doesnt worked

I tried using the same SIM in other phones ,which shows full network signal and works fine but this shows emergency calls only.

please help ,i dont know what to do .

Thanks in advance

Go to settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>network mode

There are two options there cdma and gsm, try experimenting with both and see which works better.

Another option would be to get yourself a prepaid local sim pack. You would definitely save heaps more with this options since Indian telecoms charge peanuts for calls/texts.

Thanks for the reply

under settings>wireless and network>mobile networks> i coudn't able to find network mode there are options like use packet data , data roaming , access point names and network operators only under network operators> search networks and select automatically options available.

where to find network mode ??

i have a vodafone postpaid connection.

That's odd. It should be between Access point names and network operators.

Sorry dude, I'm stumped. If you're still abroad, try looking for a Samsung Service rep to help you with that. If you're already home, I suggest you do the same thing.

Hi ,
any news on these issues? i have the same problem. Once the phone lost the network connection, now it can't connect to my preferred network anymore. Tried to plug the sim card into another phone, i can get network connection just fine. Tried to plug other simcards into the samsung galaxy s phone, can't connect to any mobile network.
There must be some solution to this!!
please?

thanks a lot!
