Every day without fail, the email application - the Android one that comes with the phone - manages to crash at least twice. Battery out, back in, eternal wait for the thing to fire up once more, and then it works mostly fine until the next crash. This has been going on for about three months, during which time I have not downloaded any new apps and it really is very tedious. I have Firmware 2.2, build FROYO.BPJPB. Of course since I have a Mac, KIES is completely useless, because after I installed the much trumpeted version for Mac, all it did was offer to play some music, but I don't have any on the phone. So, do I really have to go to some phone store and get a geek to delete everything, instal more recent software, hope that might help, then download and reinstal all the previous apps? What kind of a way is this to run a business? Is this really the best Samsung can offer? If so, I struggle to come up with a good reason to stick with this combination of faulty software and hardware. Please no advice about rooting and Norse gods - I just want a piece of consumer equipment that works the way it was meant to. I have had this overpriced piece of plastic since August 2010 and can't say that I've ever really been happy with it. Stuffjust seems to keep on not working the way it should. No car manufacturer would sell such poorly executed product. Enough of this rant, I am just fed up with the thing.
