Call me old school, but the CUA (Common User Access) guidelines in the 1990s were quite useful, esp. the … (ellipsis) to indicate that a further dialog-box would come up to confirm your action, such as a Delete.
On this front, the Android interface (at least in Froyo) is a bit of a let-down.
One is never sure what's gonna happen when you press that Delete button.
IMHO, the text on the buttons should be in sync with the user settings for actions such as Archive, Send, and Delete. If i specify that i should confirm the Send (since i have sent a couple of blank messages) and Delete, the buttons should show Send… and Delete….
Anyway, that ellipsis is only one character to tack on to the end of the action.
God is in the details.
