I'm a little disappointed that the camera is "only" a 5 MP, and there doesn't appear to be a flash - though a UK website reports an LED flash. I would have thought that to "close the loop" as THE high end phone Samsung would have gone with an 8MP camera with a Xenon flash.

OTOH, front facing camera FTW!

The flash is a good idea. I have seen lots of sites that say it has flash and two cameras one on the back and one on the front for webcam per purposes. 5 MP thats really good compared to the LG VU's 2 MP. Hahaha.

One thing Im worries about though is the camera not having a shutter key.

I just bought my wife an Iphone 3GS (A lesson in life; never argue with your wife about not buying something she likes. You will regret it, and still end up buying it)

One thing she said to me was she noticed,it has terrible auto focus. Yes the touch focus is such an eye candy, but she said it's useless. as it blurs everything else out expect for which ever portion you touch. But if she does not use the auto focus. It was fine, unfortunately for the iphone, she said there was no setting to switch it off.

So now I worry with the galaxy S camera, as it too does not have shutter key and uses touch focus. Although I remind myself that samsung produces one of the best camera phones so no need to worry much.

I agree that the dedicated camera button is better. My G1 gives me the choice of on screen shutter button or the hardware button. Isn't that what android is all about, choices?

The early versions of the Android camera didn't even support the on screen shutter button.

I thought I read somewhere online that it is going to have Flash, I saw some pictures and it doesn't look like it but I'm not sure.

It better have Adobe flash because if it wants to battle with the Evo.  And the 5MP camera looked good at the time we were first learning about it, and compared to the new phones that is low.

Btw: Electro your Galaxy S vs EVO 4G article is awesome, and the graphs on it are awesome.

True, but unfortunately, Android 2.2 is necessary to run Adobe Flash 2.1. So at release, the Galaxy S will not support Adobe Flash. As I mention in my thread down in Samsung Galaxy S Updates, I plan on ditching 2.1 and switching to 2.2 as soon as XDA-Dev puts together a 2.2 port.

And thank you about my article, a lot of work and research went into it. I've still yet to physically wrap my fingers around a Galaxy S though, so hopefully my firsthand impressions match my "on paper" impressions.
