Hi, I have tried to pair a Belkin receiver to my Galaxy S and my Galaxy Tab but have been told they are not compatible.

Why do we have standards if different manufacturers can't make their product compatible.

A2DP should be simply plug and play and all units should just work.

Any suggestions for a compatible receiver for Galaxy as this one is back to the shop for a refund.

Hey

Who told you it's not compatible?

I have the FHZ492-P (the so-called "new" version), and after a rough start, it's working great now.

I had no problems pairing with the device, but for some reason I wasn't able to connect to it.  I'd click on Belkin E44 (in my case), and the status would change from 'paired' to 'connecting...' and then instead of changing to 'connected' and working (like with my other devices), and it would change back to 'paired' and be disconnected.  Logcat output is attached.

I emailed Belkin for your support, and they didn't mention anything about the device being imcompatible with the Galaxy S.  Instead they tried offering me some very basic trouble shooting tips.  While writing my reply, I decided to try get the above logcat output, and herein the only change I can think of.  I'm using the speedmod kernel, with his the android logger disabled by default.  I don't understand how this could make a difference, but after doing so, although I still couldn't connect (and logged it), I then unpaired, repaired, and the device is working great!

Sound quality and range are both great... I'm very happy with the device, and can confirm that it is indeed compatible with at least the Galaxy S I9000.

Good luck if you haven't returned it yet Happy

Well, after weeks of happy listening, the problem returned, and no matter what I try, I can't get the thing to work again.

Note there's an xda thread on this issue too, with a bit more info, but no solution as of time of writing.

I know this is an old topic but at least I faced this problem recently. I posted the solution I found on another forum but I thought I'd might as well repost here so that as many people as possible can get to it as easy as possible:

Quote
My dad had this problem with his Samsung Galaxy trying to connect to a Belkin W25, I did the following things to get the connection working in 5 minutes:

1. Sat down right in front of the stereo

2. Unpaired the devices

3. Paired the devices

4. Put the music on so I was hearing it from the phone

5. Opened the drop down menu under the Belkin W25 device in the list of Bluetooth decives, chose Functions.

(There might be a bit of mistranslation in the menu points as his phone has a Danish OS so I'm translating "freely".)

6. Checked the "Play Media on this device" box

7. Checked the "Connect" box in the top

8. Music on stereo

Two things:
1) Do things exactly in the order they are described.
2) After a couple of weeks this solution has proved itself to be consistently working - he uses the phone for music in the car as well and there's no problems switching between the different wireless receivers with this approach.

I hope it solves some peoples problems with this.
