Install "audio manager" from market and set system sounds to zero. That's it

Hello there!

I resolved that problem by updating my Galaxy S 2 firmware to KF3 version.
That was done from phone menus, pressing "Menu" button choosing "Settings" and then "About phone". Then I chose "Software update" and "Check update". After updating to KF3 when you select "Silent" or "Vibration" mode also camera sounds are off.
I hope that is what you are looking for.  Smile

I had to update through KIES to get rid of the sound, oddly it also deleted the ability to change text skin :-S

...hi I just found that if you go to menu key, then choose config, select sounds and then open the volume option you will find 4 controls, adjust the one that says system to the minimum and then the camera sound will not appear when taking a picture. ...this work for me. ...but I am in mexico.

For some ROMs, camera sounds can't be silenced no matter what you do. In this case, flashing a different ROM is the only solution. There might be a solution for rooted phones but I don't know of them. Hopefully, someone can chime in cause it's annoying the heck out of me.

Yes, it can be done without root acces. I installed an app called Silent Cam, and it works fine. On previous Android versions, on a previous phone, the first picture had a shutter sound, but all the following ones were completely silent. Perhaps that first one was due to a bug. Still recommended: try this yourself!

I now have a ROM where the camera is silent when the phone is set to silent, so I uninstalled the app.

This app takes low-res pictures only.
