ringtone assign problem

Hi all, I want to set a ringtone for a contact, when I set it and they call me it goes to the default tone.  When I have tried this with other contacts it works well and I get the ringtone I have assigned.  I have tried deleting and reentering the contact but the same thing happens.  Can anyone advise me.  Very frustrating.

i have the same problem with my phone and have read the article posted by scott.  however, i'd like to assign one of the phone ringtones to a specific contact, not necessarily assign a song from my music library.  is there a way to do so?  i was able to do this on my HTC Evo, but am finding it difficult to find a solution --- and naturally, sprint is of no help.  i have assigned different phone ringtones, not music, to specific contacts but it's not working.   thanks in advance.
