hi,

i was wondering if there is a way to put the galaxys2 on silent without unlocking it. I know sometimes i might find myself in a situation where i dont want anyone to hear the unlocking tone before i click it onto silent?

thanks

I'm not a know it all but i believe that is not possible. What i do have is an app called Widgetlocker which you can customize the lockscreen so the option of putting it to silent is there.

i know what you mean. seems the only way for the s2 is to sweep the whole screen then make a choice. i actually prefer the regular lockscreen of my nexus as i have that option to put it to silent without needing to sweep the whole screen.

Press the power button to turn the screen on, then whilst still locked, press the power button again, menu box will appear with silent mode option.

Second press is a long press btw. Good tip though!

Didn't realise this. Good one. Somehow we all turn off our devices but never really pay much attention on the options when the menu pops up after the long press. Nice tip!
