I thought this phone was supposed to be a super strong phone that could take the knocks.  I had my for 4 days and didn't misuse or abuse it but only could see half the screen.   Lips Sealed The outside glass was fine but you could see a crack in the inner screen.  You know if I had misused it I could have accepted this but it wasn't.  But of course the blame always goes to the customer. Its never the phone.  Now I have to go back to my Nokia.  Well least it has lasted for a couple of years not like the Samsung.

I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

Pissed off.

Your phone should be under warranty.

They will replace the Screen free of charge.

Peace.

As you said, the blame is always goes to customer, but it's true in 30% cases. First of all it's an ultra slim phone with large 4.3" display, So we need to take extra care. I believe you took extra care and am not going to blame you here. But Nokia phones are waste these days that the out look of the Nokia phones are bad and moreover Symbian sucks  Big Smile.

So go for some other Android based phone if you not interested with Samsung Slim phones.

Really can't confirm your problem. My phones has been dropped 3 times .one time even on concrete. No scratch or damage at all.

I think the issue is with the GT 9103 or the GT9001 GT9003

As they are SLCD and no gorilla glass

Being sclcd doesn't mean it's not gorilla glass.

I didn't say that, but it is so. None of the SLCD devices from samsung have gorilla glass. They have a hardened surface but it's not gorilla glass.

know what Iron? for some reason, if not for your post, i wouldn't be actually doing some deep research on this. not that it matters as all of those products really have hardened surface ang Corning is just a brand but i've gotten to believe that even my old I9003 is equipped with Corning as every other website states so. but thanks to you, i'm now gonna do some more checking. don't take it in a negative way. it's nice in fact that you made that correction. now how to verify for sure...hmmm...

Sure, I would like that, I read the source article very long time ago.

Why would I take it in a negative way, I like when I'm proven wrong means I learn something new.

Peace.

OK it seems that the i9003 does have Gorilla Glass:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9003_galaxy_sl-3761.php

It the official list that's misleading.

Official list in Corning says some products may not be listed so it is possible that it has Gorilla. Gsmarena, though very reliable, is still not Samsung and Samsung website does not say that it has. Makes me think now who gives the right information. Hehehe

Doesn't matter, I had a nexus S which doesn't have Gorilla glass. Dropped it everyday and no issues.

I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. It boots but the screen is blank. Is there a way to mount the USB manually?
Do any of you know how to get my contacts etc. off the phone?
