According to this http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_to_get_a_value_pack_update_instead_of_ics-news-3583.php it looks like sgs will get an alternative software update. Does anyone know how can i update my current android (its 2.3.3) ?

According to the article it is saying that the Galaxy S is going to get a kinda mini update with some of the ICS things but not all of them. Samsung claims that the I9000 can't handle the ICS without making it a lousy experience. Atleast they are trying.

[UPDATE] Galaxy S And Tab Will Probably Get Ice Cream Sandwich “Lite”

Update: reader msgfromside3, who speaks Korean, pointed out that the “Value Pack” is supposed to be ICS-based, but with some features removed. So both Galaxy S and Tab will almost definitely get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, possibly with a “lite”-version of TouchWiz.
The article also mentions that Samsung considered porting ICS plus full TouchWiz, without providing end-user support, but decided against it for fear of customer complaints.

The sad this is that with Samsung you will never really know, they could say that it is coming, then it's not then it is, but in like forever. Google has to start to have some more regulations about software updates.
