I am so-o-o- confused after installing keis, worked well, then there came an upgrade, which is rubbish,to put polite...   After updating keis, then trying to update firmware,it is impossible. 1st i get that the backup is being done---connection great---then AN ERROR!!! how strange, back up can't be done, but it still goes onto installing firmware.Opps!! connection lost, tried everything that the HELP instructs. I've even  uninstalled three times now, left for 2 months ,then tried again,SAME AGAIN.         I am so-o-o-o tired of this ,unless i get a result,i am going back to BLACK BERRY.   ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.  MY PHONE IS EXCEPTIONALLY SLOW AND USELESS, WON'T EVEN LOAD E-MAILS AT PRESENT. WHERE IS ALL THE HELP.    OH NO ,IT'S ONLY THE CONTRACT MONEY THAT'S IMPORTANT-I SIMPLY FORGOT.     HELP..... Crying Sad Angry

There's a thread in the troubleshooting section that may help. .But just try to unplug and plug in your phone as soon as you see the connection is lost in the lower right corner of your screen

Another option is to take it to the service center and have them upgrade it for you.

Hi All,
Tried the update on Wednesday using my Windows Vista PC all appeared OK until Norton Security interupted the Firmware upgrade and deleted the Binary File then could not get to work at all on this PC. I tried to restart upgrade and disabled Norton but still no luck the upgrade just hung half way. I gave up.
Last night Thursday I decided to try with my other PC using windows 7 and i disabled Norton. I installed latest Kies and upgrade went like a dream. No problems at all and did not need to Factory Reset my phone so kept everything. Big Grin

Yes, the solution is called: flashing (Odin or Heimdall).
