Hello,

Please help me.
I had connected the Galaxy to my computer and started KIES, Kies told me there was a software update for the Samsung, ok, I agreed to install this update.
After a wile I noticed that my computer had detected new hardware, the Galaxy was detected again on the USB port ... meaning that I left the computer updating for one hour but noting was hapening !!.
Kies could not find the Galaxy anymore .... know I have on the Galaxy screen a small notice picture that the connection between the computer and the phone is not good.
I have tried to restart the phone .. no success...

Can anyone help me please ?

You probably soft bricked.. If you can not boot phone then you will have to use Odin software, update operating system..
Download "Odin software" & flash new/same firmware..

I've just been on the phone to Samsung about the same issue, apparently when the firmware upgrade fails, it needs to go to a service centre. I tried doing an Emergency Recovery and even that failed. Cannot connect to my computer anymore and the phone wont turn on or off. I have written to the warranty department to see if they will extend my warranty to cover this repair (seeing as it was of no fault of mine) Will have to wait and see what they say, but fingers crossed

yep,  I did :-(  never had problems before, but guess what???
Wont be using it again - EVER ....  rather expensive lesson

yep,  I did :-(  never had problems before, but guess what???
Wont be using it again - EVER ....  rather expensive lesson

You could have easily installed same/new firmware using Odin.. It's very easy & much more stable/reliable than kies..

Warranty department email has just bounced back at me, so will have to phone Samsung again tomorrow
and there is no way this phone is going to work again  - I really think it is completely dead :-(

Try bringing it to a Samsung Service Center and explain to them as your first post.
I believe they'll update it for you.

Well I am very pleases to let you all know that Samsung came to the party
They have agreed to extend my warranty to cover the repair plus sending a courier service to pick it up from me
I had my doubts that this would actually happen, but just shows that perserverence really does pay off
Should anyone need to enquire about a similar issue, this is the email I was given. samsung_mobile_support@wds.co

I tried several things ..no success
went with the phone to a service center near my town .. two days later software was insrtalled and phone running again ... 20Euro cost.... thats not to bad

Anyhow thanks for the help
