When trying to update my GT-I9000 I get the following message fro mKies when I try to update:

Current version: PDA:JG4 / PHONE:JG3 / CSC:JG1
The latest version is already installed on connected device.

Why is Kies being mean to me?

Honestly, this whole Galaxy S Froyo debacle has left a bad taste in my mouth. I think my next Android device will be an HTC. The Desire HD is looking pretty good right about now...

Yeah srsly, Kies kill the whole experiance the only saving grace is that I don't have to go through that all the time, gingerbread is probably a while away or maybe not coming to Galaxy S. I mean there is a 2 Ghz phone planned which will probably make the galaxy s obsolete.

Well have fun with Kies,

What does it show which build do you have?
Settings -> About Phone -> Scroll to bottom Build Number.

This is not a Problem, it is just a very bad translation.

This Device;s version cannot be updated actually means there is no Update available at the moment.

Call your local Samsung Center.

Or Flash your phone using Odin.
Before you use Odin read about it. or ask any specific questions you have about it.

Peace.

@IronSingh  Gingerbread WILL come to Galaxy S. It's been confirmed.
Also, Nexus S is same thing as the Galaxy S, just different looks and small hardware changes. Also made by Samsung again and Nexus S gets Gingerbread sooo.
