Hello,
I realy could use some help regarding my little problem i've experienced recently.
I am a galaxy s I9000 owner (stock android 2.1 update 1), and decided to try the new android 2.2 froyo.
I've upgraded my phone via samsung kies (easier for me because i'm not familiary with rooting and hacking phones). The upgrade is great, flash player 10, some new apps, but have a little problem ... not expected something like this ... my battery is dropping down verry fast ... it barely lasted 1 day (before upgrade it lasted ~ 2 days) moderate usage.
I started to uninstall apps, no result, i evan did a factoy reset, still no result, it seems like android 2.2 or some background apps are realy suckin up my battery and don't know why and how to restore my power like it was before.
Ther are no active applicatons in program monitor, but in ram manager there are from 180mb to 216mb / 304mb,
Please help...

Hi guys,
this is my first post here and need a help from you!
As you can guess I have a SGS. The problem is that, today is 28.12.2010 and I still don't have froyo 2.2.
I have installed the latest KIES,the program works perfect and detect my phone, but when I try to "update the firmware"... there is a message: " no update for your device " !
My phone is SIM-FREE and I think it is with international version of firmware 2.1,because I have bought it from UK by ebay.co.uk

OK be gentle with me as I have no techy knowledge at all

I have been notified by T-mobile that the 2.2 update is available to me. I have read many forums and all contain lists of people having problems and discussing in hi-tech language what they had to do to remedy problems arising from the attempts/actual update.  This has made me very apprehensive about the whole thing and I phoned the T-mobile shop to see if they would do the procedure for me. They won't because of Data Protection.  So... to take the step?  Can anyone tell me if it is advisable to remove the memory card or the SIM before I start and what is involved in 'backing up' which I see advised but not how.  Sorry to sound so useless and I am sure it is obvious to most of you, but an idiot guide would be appreciated.  Thank you

In my case, I didn't lose anything from my phone. Only thing that I did after the update was to return shortcuts for most used application to main screen of the phone.

Welcome;D  Please check out the forum rules. Also check out the how to thread for some great tips. For troubleshooting, check this posting notice before using the search function so see if someone’s asked your question before. If you are having problems after upgrading to Froyo try following these directions

Remember you will hear a lot from people who had problems as they search for answers. I simply made a list of my apps, backed up my contacts and did the upgrade. I've done 3 (official) and not had a problem with the download and installation. I was caught up in the JK4 problem in Canada but then I just sent my phone in for repair by Samsung. That time I lost my data. You could always see if there's a cell phone repair shop around that will do the upgrade but, really, most of the time you plug it in, it does its thing and your phone is upgraded.

Then you need to flash it with language support for the language that you want with Odin again. It's the only way. Use hack section of the forum to find the right FW with wanted language and flash it.

Hi everyone.

I saw a news yesterday saying that T-Mobile would start to update Vibrant today. I've just plugged in my cell phone but when I try to update it, it shows me the following message:

Model Name:
Current Version: PDA:JI6 / PHONE:JI6 / CSC:JI6
The device does not support firmware Upgrade

I have upgraded my firmware with Kies mini, so I guess my firmware can be upgraded. What's wrong? Will I be able to upgrade my device?

Thanks,
Glauco
