I have noticed that when I started kies 2.0 it suggests that i update to the newer kies 2.0 version in May as opposed to the other kies 2.0 software.
I clicked yes, awaited downloaed of the software....
first minor issue was the downloaded / filesize was not equal which makes no difference to the installation but thought worth mentioning
The next thing was as the installation began, approximately half way through , the installation package vanished and kies starts up again, with the same request to update to the new kies .
I solved this issue by going straight to the main website
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP and downloading the new one from here, then it asks about uninstalling and then installing the new version to which i responded yes.
This solved this problem of mine.
Hope it helps others if they come across a similar issue, i checked the forum and this did not seem to come up as all the other issues are about the actual software and phone interaction and firmware on the phone.
