downgrade reason tat i gv is , OCLF work awesome in 2.1 ain't 2.2. So SGS work pretty fast when your 2.1 SGS is rooted and lagfix by OCLF but this does not happen the same when in 2.2 (maybe this only happen in my SGS only)

Since 2.2 is no any diffences with 2.1 (at least so far I still not yet recognise any useful things for FROYO), so i decided to downgrade my SGS to Android 2.1

Anybody can help???

Thanks  Angel

First try backing up your apps and data ang restore factory settings. Many have reported improvements.
If youre still unsatisfied I suppose you can reflash to an older firmware. Just get odin and download the necessary files.

Although you have to choose the right firmware for your model coz theyre not all the same.

There are walkthroughs here if you search.

By the way upgrading your phone or formatting requires that you disable lagfix FIRST prior to upgrading. If you didnt do so then you basically disabled lagfix.

That happened to me. And I had to use odin to reflash the firmware. Luckilly they had the exact one for the phone and I was able to apply root and lagfix again.

With Odin you don't need to unlag fix. As Odin will flash the whole partition and just write a new one. Although, you will loose the lagfix if it wasn't pre-applied to the ROM.

Let us know how your endeavor went.

Peace.

I remember from an earlier post that you can't enter Download Mode,

Is that still true?

My Galaxy S (indian version) is giving me lots of trouble after I installed froyo using Odin. Right now I have baseband version xxjp2 and kernel 2.6.32.9. I want to downgrade my phone to 2.1 or to official firmware but I am not able to do so using kies as it says this version cannot be upgraded. I have no record of my official firmware and find it difficult to pick the right one from samfirmware.

The current versions activity launcher is crashing frequently and the phone has very annoying lag time.

Well without your original Values the best you can do is get the next best thing.

Follow this link.

Since you want the Indian Firmware, I believe it would be in the same protcol as Asia so you want to get the newest Eclairs or Froyo,

If you scroll down to Asian Roms,
For Froyo the Latest is I9000ZSJPE, and
For Eclair the Latest is I9000TGYJH1, and

These are official Roms so this is as close to your old Firmware you can get, maybe even same.

ya.. but problem was solved few days ago..... Angel

In that Case please look at this guide. Please applaud him for his contribution.

Peace.
