If you look at any OS installation, ask any qualified person and they will tell you that Clean install is best.

An upgrade is ok, but when there are so many unknown variables with the thousands of apps available for Desktop or the Android that it is hard to keep track of it all.

All Apps have config files some of these files make their homes in system files. When you upgrade these files are usually cleaned to match the new installation leaving what ever apps that were using that file clueless, resulting in said errors.

So to help with those Errors, I recommend once you upgrade to Froyo or Before Back your stuff up (I recommend Titanium BackUp Requires Root), and do a Soft Reset (this is the more thorough Reset). This can be achieved by going to Settings -> Privacy -> Restore Factory Defaults.

Do not worry if the phone takes a while to restart and come back in. That is normal.

Do take note that a Reset will flash your OS. From experience Reset doesn't touch the SD Card or the Phones Mass Storage, but don't take chances.

Hope This Helped

Peace
IronSingh.

Oh yeah, best to do this PRIOR to lagfix or at least have lagfix disabled before you format or restore to factory settings...

Had to go through a heap of trouble since I forgot to disable lagfix when I restored to factory.

Have you tried hard Reset?

To perform:

Take out the Battery to make sure the device is switched off.

then Place it back in.

Hold the Volume Up + Home Key + Power Key.

Once the Device lights up let go of the Power key but keep the Volume Up and Home Key pressed.

You will come to a screen where it will let you do some tasks. Look for Wipe Data/factory reset.

scroll with the volume keys and select with the Home KEy.

Once selected scroll down to Yes and Press home Key again.

Warning: Hard/Soft reset will wipe your data off.

This is Strange I could have sworn I just Replied to this Question. but It seems like the post was deleted. (I read the news So I guessing thats what happened.)

Please try to Hard Reset.

Remove the Battery to make sure the device is switched off.

Reinsert the Battery, Then Press and Hold the following Keys:

Volume Up
Home Key
Power Button.

As soon as you see the Device light up let go of the Power Button.
Then you will get a screen where you can choose Wipe Data/factory reset. Select that with the volume buttons to scroll and Home Key to Select.

Then Scroll Down to select Yes and home key to confirm.

Warning: This will wipe all your data.

Let me know how it went.

Peace.
