I9000XXJVT+semaphore so far the best and most stable.

http://jjpda.blogspot.com/

Have you tried it?
Have you flashed TalonDEV or Midnight or Tornado or Tegrak  to compare with Semaphore?

I'm currently on xxjvs which I'm very happy about with firmware & system performance..!!
Does anyone know what are the major/noticeable enhancements on xxjvt ..??

Any links to user reviews for xxjvt
 Cool
Custom JVS-ROM has more bugs:phoneFC, SOD, etc.
Custom JVT-ROM doesn't have these bugs.
Enhancement: It doesn't depend on the ROM. It depends e.g. kernel.
1. Flash a custom kernel like: Semaphore, Galaxian, Midnight, Speedmod, TalonDEV,Tornado, etc.
2. Convert filesystems from RFS to EXT4.
3. Set more CPU speed like 1200 MHz, but don't forget to undervolt.

Hiya thanks for all the help... Just 30 mins ago i managed to update to xxjvt firmware, applied root & flashed semaphore (all good with no hickups/bricks)
# can you please explain "deodexed + zipaligned + ext4 partion" ????
# and how do i apply the above to my phone ???? (im sure through semaphore are files not converted from rfs to ext4)

Thanks mate (for ALL the help) you ave the knowledge & confidence to flash !!!

I have updated my phone to 2.3.5 without issue at all. I went to u/d my wifes phone and I am getting an error message. It is telling me that the MD5 hash value is invalid. I'm a noob to all this and would appreciate the input. Any ideas?

I updated from GB 2.3.3 and did a factory reset before trying to flash.

First read the forums & search under your phone..!!
Firstly what phone & model do you have ?
What software did you use to update phone, kies or Odin etc ?
Outline the steps you took to do update & also check if you can get into recovery mode (if you done backup you may able to restore)
Check if you can enter download mode, if you can then flash again..
Any probs get back

I did try to find my issue in the forums with no success.

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 Vibrant. It has Gingerbread 2.3.3 XXJVK with kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVK-CL75655se.infra@SEI-28 #2. I used Odin3 v1.0.exe to flash. The download mode works, the recovery mode works. I am quite puzzled.

I have followed all the instructions to the letter and it always tells me it fails. Any help would be appreciated. The phone is still working but it just won't update? It just keeps telling me the MD5 Hash value is invalid. I have taken a screen shot of the laptop when trying to update if it would help anyone.

I have myself been on xxjvt since last week.. Major changes the phone has a blue glow.effect on screen edges..
The application screen now will scroll loop round (meaning does not on last screen)..
My gps much better locks in quickly than before..
For some reason my battery lasted longer on xxjvs but really I have downloaded more apps so unsure..
But im rooted & flashed semaphore (what a beast my volume much louder)

Got it fixed. What I had to do is use Odin 1.7 for android. I had to go to the 2.3.4 update files and then to the 2.3.5. It worked so I'm not complaining.

Only problem is that I don't have as good service with Bell as I did with Froyo for some reason.

personal opinion is it's good but I haven't tried anything else other than Froyo 2.2. The I9000 is my first android. XXJVT is much more stable than Froyo 2.2. My phone when on Froyo had a full charge and would shut off for no reason sometimes 3 times in a day. The battery drain was about as it is now with XXJVT, unless I turned off the data and then it would last for days with texts and phone only. The XXJVT isn't much different for 'user friendliness' as Froyo. When I was on 2.3.3 the screen was less sensitive to the touch than both Froyo 2.2 and XXJVT.

The service issue I am having now with both our phones is network connection. When on Froyo we had excellent connection and never really lost the connection. Even in my office sitting at my desk I had connectivity. My mother in law could get a hold of me anytime (DAMN! jk). On 2.3.3 connectivity was non-existent in the office and sketchy when outside. On XXJVT connectivity is sketchy in the office but good outside. I'm not sure if this is a GPS issue or not but it shouldn't be. When I am at my desk inside away from windows I get sporadic service and connectivity issues. Text messages appear hours after they are sent and I don't receive telephone calls. Like right now I do not have service and then it connects with the indicator with 0 bars and no 3g.

There are no known issues with wifi or the GPS. Obviously GPS is an issue indoors. Wifi seems to work great. If I think of anything else I'll post.

It seems like you got signal issues hope you fix ir bud..im with 3 network company & siganl really strong everywhere (except local asda)..
Just recently after flashing to xxjvt my battery drains quicker than prev (but since extra apps downloaded) could be a factor !!
Must say semaphore kernel on xxjvt base has turned my phone into a beast..the extra system volume control, overclocking cpu, other extras..wwwow
