On stock?... No.
On some of custom ROMs based on JVS... Yes.
The best one is JVT.

 Cool
Custom JVS-ROM has more bugs:phoneFC, SOD, etc.
Custom JVT-ROM doesn't have these bugs.
Enhancement: It doesn't depend on the ROM. It depends e.g. kernel.
1. Flash a custom kernel like: Semaphore, Galaxian, Midnight, Speedmod, TalonDEV,Tornado, etc.
2. Convert filesystems from RFS to EXT4.
3. Set more CPU speed like 1200 MHz, but don't forget to undervolt.

Kernels: Semaphore, Speedmod, etc.
My favorite kernels are: Tornado, Midnight, Semaphore, TalonDEV.
I've used Tegrak, Fugumod, Speedmod, etc.,too.
Rom Manager: I don't use it as being on a Custom Samsung ROM again. I used it on CM7.
Full ROM backup: use Nandroid backup in CWM! This is simple and the best for me.

-Update.zip: You won't use it.
When you flash a ROM via CWM, you'll use the "install zip from sdcard"....
- Nandroid backup: the whole ROM will be saved: bootimage, recovery image, system, data, datadata, cache.
