I have updated my galaxy s to official gingerbread 2.3.3 but unofficially (as it is not yet launched in India), I am completely satisfied with its performance, but i have heard that it spoils device's warranty. I just wanted to know what is the procedure to restore galaxy s to its factory condition with stock froyo rom which was preinstalled, to avail warranty of the device.

Thanks in advance.

You reflash your stockROM preinstalled using Odin/Heimdall.
Which stockROM were you on first?

Don't select Re-Partition if you have one file!
You don't need PIT.
(You have run the "I9000DDJP6.exe" and got only one "*.tar" file).
Steps:
0. charge the battery fully up.
1. disable lagfix.
2. backup your data.
3. unmount and remove external SD card.
4. Turn off your phone and wait for 1 min.
4. go to Download Mode:
keep pressing Volume down+Home+Power buttons. When appears the yellow digging android release all the 3 buttons.
5. Open Odin and put the "*.tar" file in PDA field.
No PIT and NO select Re-partition!
6. Connect your phone to the PC via cable,
and Odin should assign it a comms port which will be highlighted in yellow. It won't matter which port it is, as long as it assigns it one. (If it doesn't, then you have a problem with your windows drivers and you cannot continue. You will need to remove the battery from your phone to get out of download mode.)
7. Click START.
As the flash happens, you will see a Green progress bar making it's way across the screen in Odin. At the same time, a blue progress bar will be showing on your phone. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DON'T DISTURB THIS PROCESS. Do not unplug the phone, press any buttons, touch the PC.
OK, hopefully the flash has completed without issue and the phone has rebooted. Odin says "PASS!".
8. After reboot unplug the cable from PC.
9. Do a Factory reset:go>menu>settings>Privacy>Factory data reset.
10.Reboot.
You are done.

Done as per the instructions given by you. Froyo got installed. Now last few confusions -

New firmware version - PDA:JP6 / PHONE:JP2 / CSC:JP5 (KOR)

earlier it was - PDA:JP6 / PHONE:JP2 / CSC:JP5 (INU)

because of which kies says " The version of the device cannot be upgraded"
earlier it was saying like "Latest firmware has been installed"

Please help to sort out these issues.

1.Download the "INU.zip" from hier and put it on sdcard, go to ClockworkMod Recovery mode, choose "install zip from sdcard" and install the pack. Then reboot.
2.Check your IMEI with this code on the dialer, *#06#, and write down it.
3.Type on the dialer, *#272*???????????????# (??????????????? it's your IMEI, it must have 15 digits), after you can chose your CSC (INU), then it'll reboot (it may take some time, you'll see bootloader applying the changes), you'll have to do the initial configuration and it's done!

I tried as per your instructions, first when i selected the option "apply sdcard-update.zip" from Clockwork Mod, message popped up saying that "No such file or directory" so I changed the name of zip package from INU.zip from update.zip and then again selected "apply sdcard-update.zip" then message popped up saying that signature verification failed - Installation aborted.

But when I connected phone through Kies, It showed message that "Latest firmware installed"
just the way it was showing before flashing Gingerbread, now everything is working fine, but If possible then please tell me why that problem appeared which i mentioned above.

Thanks a lot for your support.

You should select "install zip from sdcard" instead of "apply sdcard-update.zip".

Um, I have the same problem, actually; I'd flashed Darky's ROM, and was quite satisfied with the performance. Nevertheless, I kinda decided to go back to my stock firmware, as I still have a few months left in the warranty.

I'm in the Philippines, and my old Baseband ver. was I9000DXJPA. Anyone know where to get this? Thank you.
