In my guide of this topic I'm speaking about RC5b3. Before installing RC5b3 you musn't select anything. I also did so.
But if you downloaded RC5_Final.zip, you can select what you want.
(I wrote a small tutorial about flashing RC5_Final).

Saszneb,
ok, RC5 is what I've downloaded...works fine now...thanks..

Lisa, thanks for the reply..can you suggest where I can find a good theme for Darky?

Glad.
Darky's theme hier and google on the net.

thanks. Im really glad you've faved the way to Darky's ROM in this forum..hope some of our members will try this coz this is such an amazing ROM...Im downloading now the full version of steel blue...before I forget I would like to ask you if the RC5 ROM is already deodexed because as what Ive red in other forums it the ROM should be like that to be able to theme your phone....if that so, then its very easy because all I have to do is to flash this theme through recovery. Man, I never thought that this can be possible for a phone....thanks again. your the man!

hahaa its a stupid question to ask if Darky's ROM is deodexed or not since I just red to other forums that all custom ROMs are deodexed, that explains why it boots a little longer than before. Thanks!

Pardon me, but is there any way to restore a phone to the stock firmware after rooting, leaving no trace of the fact that it has been rooted? I've still got about six months on my warranty, and I'm loathe to lose it Happy)

Anyway, I'm wondering whether the European Gingerbread release will work on my Asian SGS. I know that I could, theoretically, wait for my carrier to release the official 2.3 update (...Or at least for Samsung to leak the Asian version lol), but that seems like a bit of a hassle.

Oh, and lastly (Sorry, I seem to keep going on), I've heard that Darky's ROM currently uses the stock version of Gingerbread, the same as on the Nexus S; How does that compare to Samsung's TouchWiz in terms of functionality? I'm gonna miss the four docked icons on the bottom, but I think I can live without them Happy

Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

yes, unroot or reflash the basic ROM.
All the version of Gingerbread can work on SGS.
The new TW4 is released and is said to work fine on Darky's 10.0 RC6.

Nice! TouchWiz 4.0 was one of the reasons I've been wanting to get the S II, despite the fact that some people hate it Happy)

RC means Release Candidate, right? Does that mean that there are still some problems with it? If I may ask, how is RC6 working for you so far, saszseb?

Thank you.

RC6 is working fine.
I've just read about TW4 hier and hier.
Sorry to say, but on RC6 it doesn't work.

Though I suppose that the final release of Darky's v10 will have an optional TW4 skin, right? I can almost taste the resizable widgets Happy)

Cheers to Darky, and to everyone else who figured out how to flash their phones without messing up, unlike yours truly Happy)
