Hi Guys,

When i connected my galaxy s to Kies and downloaded the gingerbread version,it just showed 100% and then the phone got disconnected from kies. I have no idea where it got downloaded or how to install it.

Please HELP!!

Do you see any difference at all on your Galaxy? You should see some difference in the settings bar you drag down from the top, with wifi, sound, vibrations, gps and bluetooth.

If you want to make sure also, you could check on your cellphone-settings.
Settings > About phone > programversion. If it says 2.3 or 2.3.2, then you have it!

If you failed however with Kies, try this guide instead (worked for me)

heyy,

No change at all. Is the link u gave safe to use? i am a novice at this tech stuff so am kinda scared to do it by myself  Sad
Also my contacts are not getting backed up. I am using the latest version of kies that i downloaded from the samsung website.

Let me know if its safe to use the method mentioned in the link.

Okay, so you are new to tech stuff. So was I, and I did face some problems when I tried to install Gingerbread. The link however is relatively safe. I say relatively because it is not official, but it sure does work. Just follow EXACTLY the instructions and it should go fine.
