I have a Samsung Galaxy S (GT-i9000) running the stock Android 2.2 ROM.
According to Samsung, the Gingerbread update for my device has already started rolling out in India. I updated the Kies software to 2.0.0.11044_11 and connected my device to the computer and it said that there are no firmware updates available.
My device's current firmware version- PDA: JPF/ PHONE: JPD/ CSC: JP9 (AND)
I have bought this phone from the UAE and am situated in Mumbai, if that helps.

i'm bought my galaxy s in kuwait and right here i'm seeing the update (i currently have stock 2.2 froyo) as the following:
PDA:JV6 / PHONE:JV6 / CSC: JV6

unfortunately, everytime i try to update the device i get an error "connection to gt-i9000 lost" at which point my kies reconnects to the device and proceeds to tell me there is an update.

i have tried extensive googling, tried on multiple computers on multiple connections, with resetting the phone memory and SD card as well with no luck.

any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated.
