ok... think im going to go for it:)
i have the files...
dc4
efc backup
darky's

I presume the method is...

enter DL mode
flash dc4
reboot
enter recovery...
Use the EFS backup.zip file
place Darky's zip onto internal SD card
Dl darky'sROm fro market & Run
choose stuff...live wallpapers etc
enter recovery mode and choose update from zip
flash dc4 again

would this be correct procedure?

No,no.
Which ROM are you on?
Which Darky's ROM would like to get:
1. based on Froyo?>>Darky's v9.5 EE.
    or
2. based on Gingerbread (JVB) Darky's 10RCx?

SGS_GTI9000 Firmware: Android 4.0.3  Modem: XXJVT  Kernel: Stock
OC/UV:no.
ROM: ICS
Launcher: ICS.

i haven't seen v10 in action. So not really sure to be honest.

You can use pit and tick re-partition. No problem.
