Is there a change log that says what all this update will fix? I would love to get 2.2 but if doing it from the link will prevent me from geting any standard updates from my provider I may just hold out. Are there any issues yet reported with this download or version being downloaded?
Posting from my captivate at this moment too!

I've already updated the firmware to the latest 2.2 build and I have to say it runs very fast and has injected a new lease of life into my Galaxy S.
I cant wait for the final release in September now :-)

As long as you can get hold of the firmware then you can flash as many times as you like. It wouldn't be that much of a problem to do ;-)
(Flash the phone and not yourself in the park)

Is this only for the international version? If so, is Froyo available for the Vibrant?

If you're too eager to taste the Froyo, you can follow the link below and get the hottest Android 2.2 for your Galaxy S.
Thank's for the input I am thinking about purchasing the galaxy s that comes with android 2.1 wich doesnt support voice dialing over bluetooth, unlike the 2.2 version. But would the galaxy also be upgradeable to the 3.0 version? Cheers

After I updated my SGS to 2.2, I realize that the android market is gone I love browsing apllications and games in market- Is there any possible way to download it, any ways to have it back in my phone?

Several posts here indicate it will be back after a full restart. Did you already turn the phone off and on again ?
