After flashing  to Froyo at Samsung Customer Service Berjaya Plaza, Samsung Kies said;

This version of the device cannot be updated.

Current firmware version: PDA:JPA / PHONE:JPA/ CSC:JPA (KOR)

Why they not installing the updatable version?

My update version now is:
  • Firmware = 2.2
  • Baseband = 19000DXJPA
  • Kernel = 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S604 #1
  • Build number = FROYO.DXJPA
So, when I want update my version next time, I can't easily update using Samsung Kies la.. Last time, I've successed update to froyo using Samsung Kies before I bricked my phone.

With Samsung Kies update function, my installed app and data not deleted. That why I like to update using Samsung Kies. Plus, it easy, no need to download this, run this, push these buttons, etc..penat and pening!  HUH? Phobia after my phone bricked last time. Huuu...

Well if you wish to try I can help.

If you want to backup your stuff first root your device. Here is something I wrote for it.

Read it tell me if it sounds difficult. if it does can you point to which part confuses you?

Even if you don't want to root if you could just read it and give me pointers so it can be beneficial to other users that would be extremely helpful.

Peace.

Ya, good to hear that as Froyo has been here since earlier 2011 and i wonder will they ever released Gingerbread to Galaxy S (as per rumour)? I, then have to gone thru the (painful) process all over again ...
